Update - September 5, 2017 at 10:30 a.m.: Construction on the Walnut Grove crossing has been completed, but Union Pacific is still conducting safety tests on the tracks. The crossing will reopen once these tests are complete.

The closures on Ramona Street and Del Mar Avenue are still scheduled for September 5 until October 3. We've included our original construction notice below for reference.

...

As the San Gabriel trench project nears completion, construction crews will be closing off the bridges at Ramona Street and Del Mar Avenue over the trench from September 5 to October 3. Both bridges will be milled and overlaid to provide a smooth transition for motorists as they travel across both bridges.

During construction, northbound and southbound traffic lanes will be closed. Access for local residents and businesses will be maintained, and pedestrian access at the railroad will be available most of the time. The bulk of the work is expected to occur between 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. While both crossings are closed, residents are encouraged to use alternate routes to get to their destination. ACE has posted detours for the Ramona Street bridge and the Del Mar Avenue bridge, which residents are encouraged to follow.

Once work on the Ramona Street and Del Mar Avenue bridges is complete, construction will then transfer to the Mission Road and San Gabriel Boulevard bridges.

In addition, train service began in the trench this past Saturday as Union Pacific Railroad continues to test the new tracks. Testing has been going well, and the removal of the shoo-fly – which is the temporary railway track that currently resides next to both the Ramona Street and Del Mar Avenue crossing – is expected to start after September 6.
